I have been training with The Body Firm for approximately ten years. I am a competitive runner and have improved my speed, strength and stamina thanks to their programs. My race times have improved dramatically, and despite having two children within this time, I am 10-12 pounds lighter than before. The Body Firm does not have a "one plan fits all" approach to training and fitness. I'm always given new exercises to motivate and challenge me. The trainers maintain a high level of professionalism through continuing education and are always seeking new and better techniques for improving their clients' well being. As a fifty-something active adult, my goal in having a trainer centered around being able to remain active and proficient in the sports I enjoy -- especially golf, tennis and wake-boarding. The Body Firm has taken me through a balanced regimen of upper and lower body strengthening but with particular focus on improving my core strength and increasing my flexibility, balance and endurance. As a result I am performing better, playing longer and I am much less prone to injury. Many of the exercises I am coached through are golf related and the results speak for themselves. I am longer off the tee and, to my golf coach's surprise I am more in tune with my body and its motions. I feel more in control overall. I enjoy the constant variety in my exercise regimen and I am always pleased to open a copy of a golf magazine or turn on the Golf Channel and see an exercise touted that The Body Firm has had me doing for months. I may not have the natural ability I had at twenty, but what's left is in a lot better shape -- and The Body Firm is certainly part of the formula! Alan (training since 2006) |

Every session at The Body Firm is a total body workout. The thing I love the most is that I've seen real, long-lasting results. This has inspired me to exercise smarter not harder. I have been training at The Body Firm for four years and have had amazing results. I lost 25 lbs. and went from a size 10/12 to a size 6! I have never felt stronger or healthier and value exercise as a great de-stressor. I always have a great workout and a fun learning experience as each session is challenging and creative with correct form being the major emphasis. Boredom is never an issue because new exercises are constantly being introduced into my routine. I really enjoy the friendly, easy going, comfortable atmosphere at The Body Firm. At age 48 I suffered a serious rotator cuff/bicep injury. This was especially depressing for me because I had been active in "the weight room" since high school and love lifting weights. At The Body Firm, Doug spent extra personal time consulting with physical therapy professionals and studying the best course of action for my particular injury. Through a very disciplined program I was brought back to full strength much quicker than others thought possible. Along the way I was corrected on fundamental lifting mistakes that I had been making for years. Now I get more out of my gym time and will avoid similar injuries in the future. Jeff Jones |

I have been training with Doug at The Body Firm for years. I have to admit that I sometimes wonder if training makes a difference. Occasionally I am away with travel and unable to keep up my regular schedule. During these times, I notice a very perceptible lack of strength and stamina, and then discover both return dramatically once I resume. I appreciate the fact that Doug is extremely interested in seeing me not only train, but train correctly. He takes both his profession and his clients needs very seriously. I have been a client of The Body Firm for several years. Their trainers are very knowledgeable and provide a complete program including nutrition and dietary supplements. Each client is given individualized training according to their needs and physical fitness levels. For someone like myself, who does not really enjoy working out, The Body Firm makes it fun and beneficial; always knowing when and how much to challenge each individual person. I've been training with Doug for 3 years. He continues to help me reach my goals of becoming stronger and healthier. Doug is motivating, patient and respectful. He is constantly on top of current literature regarding training and nutrition and applies his knowledge to his clients individual programs. I have been working out with Doug for 6 years. He has inspired me to stay fit, healthy and enjoy working out. I had cancer in 1998 and thanks to my doctor and the wonderful guidance from Doug on fitess, diet and weight control, I have stayed healthy. Doug is a role model and encourages diversity of exercise, good but balanced nutrition and always supports me in everything I do. I have remained healthy, cancer free and have lost weight….I would encourage anyone to work out with Doug; he is my role model and inspiration for exercise and nutrition.
